There are more than 2,000 cryptocurrencies on the market with the total market capitalization of more than USD 300 Bln. This number is ever increasing as new cryptocurrencies are released and traded frequently.
There are more than 1 200 Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) launched with the total funds raised in excess of USD 7,000,000,000. This number fluctuates over the years which is conditioned by a number of factors: the quality of the roadmap and whitepaper, the team associated with the project, the country/jurisdiction of launch, financial transparency of the issuing entity, digital token ownership, token sale method and etc.
It has to be noted that ICOs are often used as a collective denomination for all types of tokenized fundraising, which is a misnomer considering the existence of Securities Token Offering (STO) and an Initial Exchange Offering (IEO). Despite the fact that all three refer to the fundraising on the Blockchain platform, the success of launching one differs and is unpredictable as it is majorly dependent on the market speculation.
